Vivian Howard's cookbook, "Deep Run Roots" was released last month. I recently spent nearly two hours pouring through the book, keeping a mental note of which recipes I wanted to try (which are many of them). But I started easy, with her "salt-and-butter-roasted pecans."
Side note: I got Vivian's cookbook soon after it was released at a book signing event in Louisville, KY! If you've ever seen "A Chef's Life" on PBS, the show follows Vivian and her cooking, as well as her restaurant in Kinston, NC.
Here I am with the chef, and my boyfriend, at the book signing:
But back to the recipe: It's three ingredients, and these nuts smell like the holidays. I have already decided that I need to make these again and bring them with me to Thanksgiving. So simple, and such a great snack to have lying around!
If you get a chance to look through Vivian Howard's cookbook, you will find multiple recipes that you'll be itching to try.
Drag the recipe card below to your desktop so you can have it on hand for upcoming holiday get-togethers!
In addition to meeting Vivian Howard, my boyfriend and I went on a tour of the Jim Beam American Stillhouse in Clermont, KY. We made a short video about the tour. Click below to see our video!
