Top 5 recipes of 2015//Goals for 2016

December 31, 2015 Abby Armbruster

Thank you, readers for an amazing 2015! You've embraced the blog, and I love hearing about people attempting the recipes found on here. I love adding new recipes for you all to try, and I hope 2016 is a big cooking and baking year for you as it will be for me!

Recapping the last six months of this blog's existence, I wanted to see what the top five recipes have been... It's a little trickier to determine than I thought, but here's my best guess, based on comments, clicks to the website and overall reception I received from people:

These all were fun to make - Especially the pad thai, since I had no prior experience with rice noodles or even having pad thai!

Now is the time for New Year's resolutions, and while I typically don't make any for myself, that is changing this year. My boyfriend made me a recipe card of each and every recipe I have made so far on Tiny Messy Kitchen. But what astounded me was the sheer volume of desserts compared to the appetizers, main dishes and snacks that I made. I knew I loved to bake, but I had no idea that there was such a heavy dose of desserts on the blog.

So in 2016, expect that to change. I personally am trying to lose weight (and actually have a goal in mind by the time my birthday rolls around), so I plan to actually work out and eat better. Part of that includes more main dishes for the blog - some of which will be vegan. I have been a vegetarian for six years now, but I want to make at least one vegan dish per week, and put that on the blog. I know not everyone will love the vegan options, and hey I would never go full vegan, but I have eaten enough cheese to last me a lifetime.

Expect more healthier options to show up on the blog, but I'm sure more desserts will be posted, too. Starting in 2016, my goal is to only have a dessert if I make it myself - No more store-bought cookies or pints of ice cream in the freezer! That goes with other foods too. If I want pizza, I've got to make it myself. It'll be a challenge, but one I welcome with open arms.

I hope you guys will join me for a healthier 2016, and if I start to slack a bit, keep me accountable!

I'll start posting new stuff next week, but in the meantime, recap the five cookie recipes I posted this month for my Christmas Spectacular here:
